The St. Maarten/St. Martin Council was chartered on March 28, 1996. The Charter Ceremony was conducted on the Hangar Deck of the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) when the carrier visited St. Maarten during its shakedown cruise. 

The St. Maarten/St. Martin Navy League Council is truly an international organization with members from more than 30 countries.

Events have included a Caribbean/Latin America Region Meeting that included a visit from Navy League National President.
